It's all coming together!

It has been a good couple of weeks since the last time I got to sit down and let everyone know how Riverdale Young Life is doing. However, I feel this is a good thing because it reminds me of how busy I have been within the ministry. Over the last month, Riverdale went to Sharp Top Cove with the Murfreesboro Area and spent a weekend in the mountains of Jasper, GA. This was such a beautiful powerful joyful weekend! The speaker over the span of the weekend let kids hear the beautiful love story of Jesus and how he came to give us life. I got to take two of my favorite people Cassie Dunning and Jessica Woodruff. This was our fourth and final year to go to a weekend camp together and it was honestly probably one of the funniest! Cassie and I got to go down the zip line and then went down the slides (standing up!) with some friends from Siegel High School. It was so cold but so worth it!

The last couple of clubs at Riverdale have been great! We are still having new kids come and lots of underclassmen too! I feel this is such a blessing to have new faces that bring so much excitement to club. Last week was jersey night and this upcoming week will be thanksgiving feast night.

The next couple of weeks are going to be full of fun and excitement at Riverdale High and at Riverdale Young Life. From the playoff football games on Friday nights to the festive last two clubs of the year it is going to be an all around great end to a semester. In the next month there will be lots of contact work with kids and hopefully a Christmas fundraiser for summer camp. I am really excited to pull it all together at the end of a semester and to live life with kids outside of the normal school schedule.

It's About That Time Again.. Hellllo Sharptop Cove!

Hello All! It has been a wild and crazy time at Riverdale High School. We have had a great turnout at Club and the kids have been signing up fast for fall camp at Sharptop Cove. As as are getting kids signed up it has been a slight challenge because it is the weekend of the ACT. Yet, God is providing and kids are signing up.

Clubs have been going really well! Last week we were at Stephnie Hoke's House and there were a ton of kids there. I talked about the Leper and how we are all like the Leper, and God is there with us personally to help us if we just reach out. It was a great time and the room was full of laughter!

As we get ready for camp I hope you will partner with me in prayer for our kids, and my leaders. Courtney Miller and Abbey Reitzel are taking kids to camp for the first time. They are very excited and have great groups of girls going! Please be in prayer for them as they venture into the wild crazy adventure of taking girls to camp for the first time! The other leaders on the team (Wyn, Garrett, Taylor, Brittany, Heather, Jacqui, & I) all have kids going too. Although we have kids and we will be returning to camp as leaders who have taken kids before, it will still be something new. We are all taking kids who are new or we have been with, but that does not take away from the need of them knowing to know Christ. In the mist of out kids hearing, and learning about Christ I pray that us, as leaders, get a huge glimpse of who he is and we can feel his power too!

Woop Woop.. Club Two!

Hello all! I hope that is it beautiful and sunny wherever you may be today because it is raining here in Murfreesboro. Last night we had club again at Buddy Hoaglin's house. It was wonderful night of laughter, and loudness throughout the whole room. Jacqui Pierce gave the talk of the night and it was her best one yet! She spoke about God walking on water and Peter responding to God command to walk out to him. She spoke so clearly and full of passion that the room that had been filled with uncontainable noise went to complete silence. It was a great moment in my time while at Riverdale.

Homecoming is going on this week at Riverdale and all of the kids are enjoying all of the activities that coming along with the week. Some of the girls who attend club on Monday nights are on court and we are all excited to go to the game and cheer them on.

If you think of my team and I this week please pray we have welcoming arms. Not only are we trying to embrace the Riverdale High community with welcoming arms we are getting another male leader on our team starting next Monday. Taylor Rorex, who is a native of Murfeesboro Young Life, is moving back and is diving into the Riverdale ministry. We are so excited about the blessings God is throwing at us and we want to welcome him the best we can.

These are some pictures from this summer at Windy Gap. We took two fully cabin, about 24 kids, to camp this summer to hear about Jesus and experince him in a way unlike anything they could experience at home. We all had a blast and God did show up in countless ways!

Welcome Back Riverdale!

Welcome to the Riverdale Young Life blog. I hope to be able to keep you all updated on what is going on in my life, and the life of Rivedale Young Life. This year we have 8 leaders thus far into the semester. On my team with me there is Wyn, Garrett, Birttany, Heather, Abbey, Jacqui, Courtney, and of course me Alice. I am very greatful for my team and all they do for our minestry at Riverdale High School.
To catch you up, monday we had our first club at Buddy Hoaglins house. It was awesome. We had a lot of young (freshman/sophmores) kids come out, but that is very exciting. Throughout club there was a lot of energy with the songs, games, and the newest edition to club the RAFFLE! Garrett took thelead did this and he was hilarious! The kids and leaders absolutley loved the skit and laughter filled the room when he started getting into his character. I feel as if this year is going to be another great year at Rivedale.
Please be with my team and I as we venture into having young leaders and fresh new faces at club that we want to engage and get to know. Thanks for your support and I cant wait to keep you all updated as the year goes on!
